• Are Verbal Agreements Valid?

Verbal agreements are virtually meaningless. Your spouse may tell you anything you want to hear to get you to leave the home. Wives will often tell their husbands that they can have joint custody, or equal time with the child, and once the husband and wife are no longer living together, that spouse says "I never said we would share joint custody; you are mistaken". Get all agreements about any issues in writing and make sure they are witnessed by a third person over the age of 18 years old, who is not your partner.
